libdist-metadata-perl software package provides module for getting information about a perl module distribution, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libdist-metadata-perl
libdist-metadata-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libdist-metadata-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libdist-metadata-perl *
You will get with libdist-metadata-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
